EXPO New Mexico is the state's only true multi-use entertainment and events facility, which in addition to being the site of the annual New Mexico State Fair, hosts hundreds of events throughout the year. Over a hundred years ago, Albuquerque and the surrounding area looked much different than it does today. The hills near and far along the Sandia Mountain Range were populated with Ponderosa pines as far as the eye could see, with railway lines being built throughout the mountainside to transport the heavy loads of timber to what now is known as the Sawmill District.
After decades of logging, land wars, and urban growth, the Sawmill area of Albuquerque was put out of business in the late 1980s and remained largely empty. In 1996 the Sawmill Community Land Trust was formed and set its intentions to clean up the ecological damage from the sawmills that had occurred over the past century.
After many years of environmental restoration and rebuilding, the SCLT succeeded in revitalizing the area, bringing new life back to this once vibrant area bordering Old Town.With the help of the SCLT, Ponderosa Brewing Company was able to build our brewery right in the heart of the Sawmill District at an important time in its revitalization.

Coro Lux (?Chorus of Light?) is an auditioned community chorus, based in Albuquerque and founded in the fall of 2015. Under Artistic Director Bradley Ellingboe, the chorus has grown into one of the top choruses in New Mexico. Coro Lux consists of the larger Oratorio Society and the smaller Chamber Chorus. The Oratorio Society, with 60 members, presents major choral works, usually with orchestra and often in conjunction with the New Mexico Philharmonic. The Chamber Chorus is an ensemble of 16 members that presents a variety of smaller works in various locations around Albuquerque. Each ensemble presents about three programs each season.

Coro Lux has participated in music events far from Albuquerque, including a Carnegie Hall concert in 2016 and the Great American Choral Series festival in Florence, Italy, in the summer of 2018. In 2017 Coro Lux became the Ensemble in Residence at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. As such, our rehearsals and many of our performances are held there. We are proud to be associated with the oldest Lutheran congregation in the state of New Mexico, founded in 1891, and long a leader in worship and the arts in our community. In 2019 we began a regular and ongoing partnership with the United Church of Santa Fe, thus making regular appearances in the state capital.

There are 19 Pueblo tribes in New Mexico. Each pueblo is a sovereign nation.
Today, Pueblo people are located primarily in New Mexico. At one time, the Pueblo homeland reached into what is now Colorado and Arizona, where incredible dwellings and trading centers were established at sites such as Chaco Canyon in northwestern New Mexico and Mesa Verde in southwestern Colorado. Pueblo people have preserved their identity in the face of multiple colonizing nations, and today, as always, value their identity and traditional ways of life. At the same time, Pueblo people live in modern houses, working and living both on and off our reservations.
Pueblo beliefs and actions are still guided by Pueblo Core Values, which include love, respect, compassion, faith, understanding, spirituality, balance, peace, and empathy. Celebrations and ceremonies are continued throughout the year, maintaining the connection to Pueblo communities, ancestors, and to the Earth.

The Village of Los Ranchos was born from a desire for preservation of a rural lifestyle with open fields, unencumbered views and active cultivation of the land. While Los Ranchos has expanded its borders from the original territory of incorporation, we maintain a commitment to fulfill the desires of the founders of Los Ranchos.
Care has been taken in this 2020 Master Plan to reaffirm our intent to carry on the traditional land uses within Los Ranchos and to maintain a rural character throughout the Village. This plan seeks to balance the desire for growth and improvement in the commercial zone with this commitment to the rural-ness that makes Los Ranchos unique and treasured.
