About Enlace Comunitario
Enlace Comunitario
Enlace Comunitario stands as a vital advocate and service provider for the Latine immigrant community in Central New Mexico, focusing on addressing the pervasive issue of domestic violence. Founded in 2000 following the tragic death of a survivor, the organization has grown into a leader in offering culturally and linguistically tailored support services that were previously unavailable to Spanish-speaking immigrants in the region. Through a dual approach of intervention and prevention, Enlace Comunitario provides comprehensive assistance that includes crisis intervention, legal aid, housing support, therapy, financial education, and leadership development. This holistic method not only aids survivors in rebuilding their lives but also engages the broader community in efforts to address and reduce gender inequity and violence.
The organization’s mission extends beyond immediate support, aiming to foster a community where Latine immigrants can collectively create a society free from gender-based violence and injustice. Enlace Comunitario’s work is deeply rooted in its core values of integrity, inclusivity, dignity, and collective wisdom, which guide its approach to both service delivery and community engagement. By serving over 800 families annually and reaching countless others through outreach and education programs, Enlace Comunitario plays a critical role in shaping a more equitable and supportive environment for some of the most marginalized members of society. Their efforts ensure that survivors of domestic violence have access to the resources and support they need to not only survive but thrive in their communities.
